طالبت الأمم المتحدة ، اليوم الجمعة، المجلس العسكرى، بالإفراج عن المدون علاء عبد الفتاح، ودعا مكتب حقوق الإنسان التابع للمنظمة السلطات المصرية إلى الإفراج عن عبد الفتاح وغيره ممن يحاكمون عسكرياً للمارستهم حرية التعبيير. وقال روبرت كولفيل، المتحدث باسم المفوض السامى لحقوق الإنسان، إن على مصر "ضمان الاحترام الكامل لحرية التعبير" بعد تسعة أشهر من خلع الرئيس حسنى مبارك، مشيرا إلى أن وكالته "قلقه حيال ما يبدو أنه تراجع لمساحة حرية التعبير والاجتماع" فى مصر، مضيفا أن الوكالة تشعر بخيبة الأمل حيال تجاهل دعواتها إلى مصر برفع حالة الطوارئ وإنهاء المحاكمات العسكرية للمدنيين.

The mother of a prominent blogger jailed by Egypt's ruling generals has gone on a hunger strike to protest her son's detention and the military's increasingly heavy-handed approach against critics.
The strike by Alaa Abdel-Fattah's 55-year-old mother could turn into a major embarrassment for Egypt's military three weeks ahead of landmark parliamentary elections, the first since the uprising that toppled longtime leader Hosni Mubarak nine months ago.

In an addition to our usual monthly podcast, we have some special audio for you from the newly concluded 3rd Arab Bloggers Meeting in Tunisia.
Nearly 100 bloggers from Arab countries gathered in Tunis from October 3-6, 2011 in a meeting hosted by Global Voices, Nawaat and the Heinrich Böll Foundation to discuss citizen media, safety online, post-revolutionary ideas, and of course to meet each other face to face - some for the first time. مشروع قانون الإعلام يثير البلبلة في الأوساط الصحفية التونسية

مشروع قانون الصحافة المُنظم للصحافة التونسية -حديثة العهد بالحرية- يثير حفيظة بعد الصحفيين.

لا يخفي الصحفيون التونسيون قلقهم بشأن قانون الصحافة المقترح، حيث يرون أنه سيحد من قدراتهم على ممارسة نشاطهم.

ولتباحث حيثيات مشروع القانون، اجتمعت النقابة الوطنية للصحفيين التونسيين يوم 6 يوليو. وبهذه المناسبة قال ثامر الزغلامي عضو المكتب التنفيذي للنقابة "الأكيد أن الجانب الزجري في هذا القانون غير مقبول وسنحاول تغييره".

ويتضمن مشروع القانون بندا يجرّم الكشف عن هوية أعوان الأمن الوطني أو الحرس الوطني أو العسكريين أو أعوان الجمارك. فالفصل 58 من مشروع القانون سيفرض غرامة على الصحفيين تتراوح بين 1000 و 2000 دينار في حالة خرق القانون.

وفي هذا الصدد، يوضح الزغلامي "بدأنا في عقد لقاءات مع خبراء في القانون والإعلام في انتظار تشريك بعض الصحفيين قبل عرضه على الهيئة العليا لتحقيق أهداف الثورة".

ويؤكد مشروع مجلة الصحافة "الحرص على منع وزارة الداخلية من التدخل في شؤون الصحافة والنشر ومنح هذا الاختصاص إلى السلطة القضائية في جميع مراحل التعبير عن الأفكار والآراء ونقل المعلومات والأخبار مع الالتزام في نفس الوقت بالواجبات والقيود التي من المفروض مراعاتها في مجتمع ديمقراطي حتى لا تحيد عن الأهداف التي تتنزل في إطارها".

بيد أن هذه التطمينات لم ترض بعض الصحفيين التونسيين.

Today marks the 100th day since the protest movement found its foothold in Syria. A 100 days later, more than 1,400 deaths, and three presidential speeches, the protest movement is still in full force. This Friday is being billed “friday of delegitimization”.
To mark this day bloggers from Syria and elsewhere started a blogging and Twitter campaign called “Blogging Day for Syria”. The campaign called on every blogger to post his article with the hashtag #Blog4Syria. Here are a selection of these

Les cyber-activistes arabes face à la liberté sur Internet made in USA

Cet article se concentre sur le cyber-activisme de base dans le monde arabe et les risques encourus d’une collision inévitable avec la politique étrangère et les intérêts US. Il résume l’essentiel des discussions que j’ai eues, ces deux dernières années, avec de multiples acteurs engagés dans la défense de la liberté d’expression sur Internet et dans l’utilisation de la technologie pour le changement social et politique. Bien que le sujet principal demeure l’activisme numérique arabe, j’y ai inclus les problématiques et inquiétudes similaires soulevées par des activistes et défenseurs de la liberté d’expression sur Internet issus d’autres parties du monde comme la Chine, la Thaïlande et l’Iran.
Ce document part donc de l’hypothèse que l’engagement privé – des entreprises – et public – de l’administration – US dans le mouvement pour la liberté sur la Toile est dangereux pour cette même liberté. J’éclairerai les raisons pour lesquelles je considère ce nouveau contexte comme étant extrêmement dangereux pour le mouvement des cyber-activistes de base.

Libya expels Reuters journalist, accuses news agency of deliberate anti-government bias

A government spokesman says Libya has expelled a Reuters journalist because of what he says is anti-government bias by the international news agency. Spokesman Moussa Ibrahim says the British correspondent, Nick Carey, was asked to leave Wednesday. Ibrahim says the reason was that the agency has been “deliberately anti-Libyan government” in its reporting.

You will quite often find yourself going to a blog where the author or tribe of authors are also passionista’s… or maybe just slightly obsessed. They will be genuine, authentic and maybe opinionated but you will be confronted in most cases with the latest reality of that particular niche or micro niche.

So asking the question, “What is the future of Blogging?”
