ندوة عالمية للتصدي" للإسلاموفوبيا" في الإعلام الغربى

تعقد منظمة التعاون الإسلامي الأربعاء المقبل أول ندوة من نوعها تهدف إلى وضع آليات إعلامية للتصدي لحملات تشويه الإسلام في الصحف والمؤسسات الإعلامية الغربية. وتشكل الندوة العالمية التي تعقد ببروكسل ويحضرها ممثلو منظمات المجتمع المدني في العالم الإسلامي والغربي وإعلاميون ومفكرون وأكاديميون نقلة نوعية من حيث تجاوز حالة التنظير إلى واقع عملي يعمل على التصدي لظاهرة الخوف من الإسلام أو ما يعرف بالإسلاموفوبيا.  ويأتي عقدها انطلاقا مما دعت له قمة مكة الاستثنائية 2005، ومتطلبات برنامج العمل العشري المنبثق عنها بالإضافة إلى اجتماعات وزراء الإعلام بالدول الأعضاء في المنظمة.  و تبحث الورشة الأسباب والنتائج التي أدت إليها الحملات الإعلامية الغربية المسيئة للإسلام وأتباع الإسلام في بداية العقد الماضي والتي لا تزال مستمرة.

طالبت الأمم المتحدة ، اليوم الجمعة، المجلس العسكرى، بالإفراج عن المدون علاء عبد الفتاح، ودعا مكتب حقوق الإنسان التابع للمنظمة السلطات المصرية إلى الإفراج عن عبد الفتاح وغيره ممن يحاكمون عسكرياً للمارستهم حرية التعبيير. وقال روبرت كولفيل، المتحدث باسم المفوض السامى لحقوق الإنسان، إن على مصر "ضمان الاحترام الكامل لحرية التعبير" بعد تسعة أشهر من خلع الرئيس حسنى مبارك، مشيرا إلى أن وكالته "قلقه حيال ما يبدو أنه تراجع لمساحة حرية التعبير والاجتماع" فى مصر، مضيفا أن الوكالة تشعر بخيبة الأمل حيال تجاهل دعواتها إلى مصر برفع حالة الطوارئ وإنهاء المحاكمات العسكرية للمدنيين.

The mother of a prominent blogger jailed by Egypt's ruling generals has gone on a hunger strike to protest her son's detention and the military's increasingly heavy-handed approach against critics.
The strike by Alaa Abdel-Fattah's 55-year-old mother could turn into a major embarrassment for Egypt's military three weeks ahead of landmark parliamentary elections, the first since the uprising that toppled longtime leader Hosni Mubarak nine months ago.

Rights group condemns Saudi’s al-Akhbar blocking

CAIRO: The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) has condemned the blocking of the Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar by the Saudi Arabian government.
The pan-Arab press freedom group said Saudi Arabia has blocked the website since July 5 “for covering the demonstrations in Bahrain.” It said that it views such a move as a violation of freedom of opinion, expression and the ability for media to circulate information.
