Well, every month you will receive a program update with a contest that we would like you all to participate in and win great prizes. You are simply asked to retweet and share updates posted by JHR website on their Twitter and Facebook page.

What's the point?
The idea of being a JHR Digital Ambassador is to create widespread awareness about relevant human rights issues, but by doing this all at the same time we can create some real buzz and generate real dialogue about these issues on-line. Being a Digital Ambassador means you have signed up to be a part of human rights awareness network - and by helping JHR spread the word on-line you will be helping to change lives in the countries we work in!

تعقد منظمة التعاون الإسلامي الأربعاء المقبل أول ندوة من نوعها تهدف إلى وضع آليات إعلامية للتصدي لحملات تشويه الإسلام في الصحف والمؤسسات الإعلامية الغربية. وتشكل الندوة العالمية التي تعقد ببروكسل ويحضرها ممثلو منظمات المجتمع المدني في العالم الإسلامي والغربي وإعلاميون ومفكرون وأكاديميون نقلة نوعية من حيث تجاوز حالة التنظير إلى واقع عملي يعمل على التصدي لظاهرة الخوف من الإسلام أو ما يعرف بالإسلاموفوبيا.  ويأتي عقدها انطلاقا مما دعت له قمة مكة الاستثنائية 2005، ومتطلبات برنامج العمل العشري المنبثق عنها بالإضافة إلى اجتماعات وزراء الإعلام بالدول الأعضاء في المنظمة.  و تبحث الورشة الأسباب والنتائج التي أدت إليها الحملات الإعلامية الغربية المسيئة للإسلام وأتباع الإسلام في بداية العقد الماضي والتي لا تزال مستمرة.

قام السفير أحمد فتح الله وكيل أول وزارة الخارجيو بالأمس الخميس بإستقبال فولمكار فنزل السفير والممثل الشخصى للسفير الألمانى بالقاهرة , وتم بحث وضعية بعض المؤسسات غير الحكومية التى تعمل بداخل مصر بما فيها مؤسسة كونراد إديناور .   وقد إتفق الجانبان على أهمية معيارى الشفافية والإلتزام بأحكام القانون الذى ينظم عمل المنظمات غير الحكومية الأجنبية التى لها نشاط فى مصر وذلك من خلال الأطر القانونية القائمة .   وقد بعث وزير الخارجية الأمانى برسالة الى نظيره المصرى وذلك لبحث أسس العلاقات بين البلدين من جانب المنظمات والمؤسسات الألمانية فى مصر

أكد مايكل منير رئيس منظمة أيد واحده وحزب الحياة أن جريدة وبوابة الوفد تحتضر من بعد ثورة 25 يناير .
وقال فى تصريحات لبرنامج بلدنا بالمصرى الذى يعرض على قناة ontv، لدى العديد من التقارير التى نشرتها الوفد غير صحيحة منها خبر حول إختطاف شباب ماسبيرو أثناء إعتصامهم لفتاة محجبة وهو ما لم يحدث .

كشفت وثائق سرية سربها موقع "ويكيليكس" الشهير عن قيام السفارة الأمريكية بتمويل بعض النشطاء المصريين سرًا خلال السنوات الأخيرة كما كشفت برقيات دبلوماسية مسربة عن المزيد من أسماء شخصيات عامة وحقوقية مصرية ممن ترددوا على السفارة الأمريكية في فترة حكم الرئيس المصري السابق حسني مبارك. ووفق العديد من البرقيات الدبلوماسية التي سربها الموقع الشهير، وحصول وكالة أنباء أمريكا "إن أرابيك" في واشنطن على نسخ منها، فقد تلقى عدد من المنظمات الأهلية والحقوقية دعما مباشرا – بعضه بدون تصريح الحكومة المصرية – من هيئة المعونة الأمريكية كما تبين حرص السفارة الأمريكية على عقد لقاءات بعضها غير معلن مع شخصيات عامة مصرية ونشطاء وآخرين ساعين للتمويل وآخرين بغرض الاطلاع على الأوضاع الداخلية.

Egyptian officials have assured the US that they will halt raids on pro-democracy and human rights organisations and return property seized during a crackdown in Cairo, a senior US official says.
The US ambassador in Egypt, Anne Patterson, spoke with members of Egypt's ruling military council on Friday to press US demands that the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) be allowed to resume normal operations, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.

The Egyptian army and security forces are targeting female protesters, subjecting them to violence, torture, sexual assault and threats of rape in line with pre-revolution practices, according to international and Egyptian human rights organizations.
"Nothing has changed overall. Law enforcement officers still feel that they are above the law and that they don't have to fear prosecution, it's a green light that legitimizes an excessive use of force, sexual assault and torture," said Heba Morayef, Egypt Researcher for Human Rights Watch.
