About 25 journalist staged a sit-in at the press syndicate for one month till now against Mohamed Abdel-Quddous, the head of Freedoms Committee, who has been delegated by the syndicate council to attend the court sessions of a case filled by the journalists against the syndicate for refusing to give them memberships as each time he doesn't show up in the court which leads to adjourning the case to another day.

Social Media used by nearly all Middle East journalists - but only 60% use it for work

The traditional media in the Middle East has embraced the use of social media with 95% of the region’s journalists now using Facebook, Twitter and other social media networks, a major survey published today reveals. However, personal use - such as keeping in touch with family and friends - is the most popular reason for journalists’ use of social media, with just 60% using it as part of their daily working lives and only 35% valuing it as a source of news.

"اليوم السابع" يصدر عدده الأسبوعى الأخير قبل انطلاق "اليومى"الإثنين، 16 مايو 2011 - 12:10

فى آخر عدد أسبوعى لها قبل الصدور اليومى فى 31 مايو الجارى تنفرد "اليوم السابع" بالكشف عن أسرار تدخل رجال أعمال عرب لمحاولة إنقاذ سوزان مبارك من المحاكمة. كما ترصد الصحيفة تفاصيل ما أسمته بفقد البابا شنودة سيطرته على الشعب القبطى بعد استمرار مظاهرات الشباب المسيحى أمام ماسبيرو رغم مطالبته بإنهائها لقرب نفاد صبر الحكام. وتنشر "اليوم السابع" القائمة السوداء بأسماء المتلاعبين بأسعار السولار، وأسباب غرق الحكومة فى الأزمة. وعن قضية قتل المتظاهرين فى جمعة الغضب تشير الصحيفة إلى أن وزارة الداخلية سلمت النيابة مكالمات حبيب العادلى مع الأمن المركزى يوم 28 يناير خالية من أوامر إطلاق الرصاص الحى على المتظاهرين.
