Following the first South African online study, commissioned by the National Press Club and conducted amongst mainstream journalists and government spokespersons across the country, the working relationship between journalists and government spokespersons requires critical attention.
The purpose of the study was to determine the realities faced by both parties in this relationship. It furthermore underlined that those who are engaged in existing relationships with one another over time are more successful at meeting one another's needs, as opposed to those who battle to find common ground.

Google has officially launched its Middle East focused media research tool Google Insights. Google users will be able to use the research tool for free and find out more data on countries in the Middle East about media topics such as internet usage and ecommerce popularity.
"We wanted to give it in a more informative way so users can go in and search parameters and then display them to extract exactly the data they wanted," Najeeb Jarrar, the head of marketing for Google Middle East and North Africa said.

TNS TV audience research , a clarification on the results


أرسل محمد أحمد، مدير مؤسسة TNS لبحوث المشاهدة والرأى، خطاباً لـ"اليوم السابع"، حول ما أذاعته بعض المحطات الفضائية، عن ترتيبها بين القنوات فى رمضان، جاء فيه:
"بناءً على المعلومات التى أرسلتها لكم بعض المحطات والقنوات الفضائية، عن استطلاعات بحوث المشاهدة، فهى معلومات غير دقيقة، حيث نشرت الجريدة اليوم فى عددها رقم 71 بتاريخ 9/8/2011، الموافق التاسع من رمضان فى الصفحة رقم (16)، وأيضا نشر على الموقع الخاص بـ"اليوم السابع" بعض الأخبار عن نتائج الدراسات التى تقوم بها شركة TNS لقياس نسب المشاهدة.

Ads spending in Saudi Arabia grows by 11%

The Saudi Arabian advertising market has recorded a remarkable 11 percent growth in advertising expenditure in the first quarter of 2011. This was disclosed by Tony Proudian, Managing Director of Pan Arab Research Center for Marketing Consultancy (PARC) at a press conference recently.click here to read the article
