Egypt Journalists' Syndicate slams military trials for civilians
Syndicate board tells journalists not to tolerate military trials in the first such statement by an Egyptian trade union

The board of Egypt’s Journalists Syndicate issued a statement on Wednesday urging Egyptian journalists to register opposition to the longstanding practice of referring civilians to military courts.
While the practice had been widely employed by the former regime of ousted president Hosni Mubarak, it has continued under Egypt’s ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF).

بث وقائع محاكمات الفساد على شاشات خارج المحاكم

أصدر مجلس القضاء الأعلى برئاسة المستشار محمد حسام الدين الغرياني رئيس المجلس ورئيس محكمة النقض - قرارا أوصى فيه بنقل محاكمات المتهمين بارتكاب جرائم فساد وقتل المتظاهرين إلى أماكن (قاعات) تسمح بحضور عدد مناسب من الجمهور بما لا يخل بسيطرة المحكمة على الحاضرين بالجلسة.  كما قرر مجلس القضاء الأعلى بث وقائع تلك المحاكمات على شاشات (خارج المحاكم) تتيح سماعها ومشاهدتها لمن لم تتسع لهم قاعة المحكمة.

استقال الإعلامى حافظ المرازى من عضوية مجلس أمناء اتحاد الإذاعة والتليفزيون مؤخراً، وقال فى خطاب الاستقالة الذى وجهه إلى رئيس الوزراء عصام شرف، إن استقالته راجعة إلى تحفظه على اختيار شخصية عسكرية فى عضوية مجلس الأمناء.

أخلت هيئة القضاء العسكري، ظهر الثلاثاء، سبيل كل من المذيعة ريم ماجد والصحفي والمدون حسام الحملاوي والكاتب الصحفي نبيل شرف الدين، بعد سماع أقوالهم بسبب توجيه انتقادات للشرطة العسكرية والأداء السياسي للمجلس الأعلى للقوات المسلحة في حلقتين على فضائية «أون تي في» يومي الخميس والجمعة الماضيين.

The investigation started Tuesday with 3 consultants on charges of abuse of the military court, the judicial inspection at the Ministry of Justice to investigate Mr. Ashraf Nada, president of the Court of Appeal in Beni Suef, about his swearing told media with Al-Jazeera and Voice of the Arabs radio and accuse the military courts, and also investigated with Chancellor Hassan al-Najjar, head of the Judges Club in Zagazig and Counsellor Alaa Shawky, President of the Giza Criminal Court, before the judicial inspection also at the same accusations.

بدأ اليوم، الثلاثاء، جهاز التفتيش القضائى بوزارة العدل التحقيق مع المستشار أشرف ندى، رئيس محكمة الاستئناف ببنى سويف، حول قيامه بإدلاء تصريحات إعلامية مع قناة الجزيرة وصوت العرب تسىء إلى المحاكم العسكرية، فيما تم التحقيق مع المستشار حسن النجار، رئيس نادى القضاة بالزقازيق، والمستشار علاء شوقى، رئيس جنايات محكمة الجيزة، أمام التفتيش القضائى أيضا فى ذات الاتهامات.
