History Makers International goes global with 2 exciting new Sessions!
UK-based Academy Award Winning Feature Documentary Producer of 'Man on Wire' and 'Project Nim,' Simon Chinn, and Al Jazeera's Editor and Executive Producer Of "People and Power," Diarmuid Jeffreys will both be featured at History Makers International 2012 in New York City next month!

Feature documentaries have become an established attraction in modern cinemas. This session, The Rise of Feature Documentaries, will explore the creative and business sides of Feature Docs, exploring the elements that make them successful and examining how they balance the tricky mix of cinema and television. Molly Thompson, Vice President of A&E Indie Films and Nancy Abraham, Senior Vice President of Documentary Programming for HBO will join Simon Chinn to walk us through the Ins-and-outs of the European and North American feature documentary markets, as well as present scenes from some of their most popular and controversial films.

Our exclusive session, Covering the Arab World: A Master Class with Al Jazeera shows history in the making and the art of making sense from chaotic events. Al Jazeera has managed to create a unique on-the-ground approach to program making, resulting in an amazing body of tough and authentic documentaries covering all of the front lines that have so recently been in the headlines - including Egypt, Libya, Yemen, and Bahrain. This in-depth session with Diarmuid Jeffreys, Programme Editor: People and Power, moderated by CBC Executive Director of documentary programming,Mark Starowicz, will explore how Al Jazeera English works with independent producers around the world and present clips from Jeffreys' powerful body of work.
