the arab spring revolution by hazem shaheen

 



Hazem Hussein Abdel-Wahab Shaheen, was born on the 3rd of November, 1978 in Alexandria, Egypt.

He Graduated from "The Higher Institute for Arabic Music" in 1999, with a grade of Excellent with honours. He then joined "The Arabic Oud House" which he graduated from, in the year 2002 with a grade of Excellent with honours.

Hazem was awarded 1st prize as "The Best Oud Player in the Arab World" in the International Oud Competition in Beirut sponsored by the Catholic University in 2002.

Hazem Shaheen is a leading member of the band "Eskenderella" which performs Sayed Darweesh and El Sheikh Emam's songs, as well as their own songs, which are composed by Hazem and Shady Mo'ness and written by various poets like Fouad Haddad, Nageeb Shehab El Din, Amin Haddad but mainly Ahmed Haddad.
 Hazem has worked in "The Arabic Oud House" as a"Oud" professor since his graduation till 2005. He currently works as the "Oud" professor in "The Cairo Opera House".

He has published his first music album "Al 'Aysh Wal Malh" in 2006 with "Masar" band, playing mostly his own compositions and is currently preparing to release his first solo album.
