Al Arabiya re-launched its English-language Website on April 10 under the direction of General Manager Abdulrahman Al Rashed. Our idea is to amplify globally Al Arabiya’s well-established brand by offering to non-Arabs around the world, as well as expatriates in the Middle East and North Africa, a deeper understanding of Arab societies, cultures and economies.
The initial statistics about new followers of our Website are very promising indeed.

We particularly seek to serve readers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, India and Pakistan, Australia, and Southeast Asia and East Asia. We have long heard from potential readers that they would like to see more analytical reporting, in-depth features, stronger business stories, and voices from the Arab world.
We are enhancing our coverage through original reporting by Al Arabiya correspondents in Arab countries, and elsewhere. We will present more “Arab voices,” and also more analyses so that readers worldwide can obtain better perspectives on developing news. And we will give you more timely features.
We are also launching a Web-TV section so that Al Arabiya’s acclaimed Arabic-language videos can now be seen in the English language.
We would like to hear from you about the changes we are instituting. We welcome your ideas for stories as well. And we request you to signal your approval of our journalism by “liking” our Website on Facebook, and by re-Tweeting our posts.
Some of you have told me that our Website has technical glitches that make certain elements inaccessible. Please be reassured that our IT team is working fast and furiously to resolve these issues. We ask for your patience—and your loyalty. In turn, we pledge to give you more of world-class journalism that has long characterized Al Arabiya.
