Egyptian authorities raid Al Jazeera's office in Cairo for second time

Al Jazeera's live news channel in Egypt, Mubasher Misr, said on Thursday that the Egyptian authorities have raided their office for the second time. The channel announced the news on its Twitter account without adding further details.
The office of Al Jazeera Mubasher Misr, began transmission following the ouster of former President Hosni Mubarak in February.
On 11 September, Egyptian authorities confiscated broadcasting equipment from the Al Jazeera office in Cairo and arrested one of their broadcast engineers, who was released the following day. The channel said Egyptian authorities had stopped them transmitting from Egypt and they were now broadcasting from Qatar. After the block on transmissions, Ahmed Zein, the head of the channel's office, told reporters that the office submitted a request to renew its broadcasting permit four months ago but was told to continue broadcasting as usual. The Information Ministry on Sunday launched a campaign in cooperation with the Interior Ministry's censorship department to check the permits of 16 satellite channels broadcasting from Egypt. Information Minister Osama Heikal on Wednesday announced that the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and the cabinet jointly decided to temporarily suspend granting new permits to satellite channels.
They also decided to prosecute satellite channels deemed threatening to the stability of the country.

داهمت شرطة المصنفات مكتب قناة "الجزيرة مباشر مصر" للمرة الثانية، حيث قامت بتفتيش المكان للتأكد من عدم وجود أجهزة بث تلفزيوني. وقال بعض العاملون بقناة الجزيرة إن ما يقرب من 15 شخصاً اقتحموا المكتب بملابس مدنية وكسروا باباً داخليا، وأخذوا أجهزة كمبيوتر وصوت، واحتجزوهم في أحد جوانب المكتب، مشيرين أن عملية التفتيش استغربت ما يقرب من الساعة.

يأتي هذا الإجراء قبل يوم من "مليونية استرداد الثورة" المتوقع أن تجتذب أعداد كبيرة من المصريين.

وكانت القناة قد نقلت على الهواء مباشرة جمعة تصحيح المسار في التاسع من سبتمبر، واقتحام السفارة الإسرائيلية.

وترددت أنباء عن تهديد النايل سات للقناة بقطع إشارة البث عن شبكة الجزيرة، إذا ثبت أنها تساعد قناة "الجزيرة مباشر مصر"، حيث تقوم القناة ببث برامجها عبر برنامج "سكاي بي".
