'Crush it!’ Seminar to address impact of social media sites on modern business
Zain Kuwait is sponsoring a lecture entitled 'Crush it!' that will take place on October 25th in Kuwait by renowned global social media expert Gary Vaynerchuk. Organized by Al-Zanki Enterprises, a Kuwaiti company that specializes in social media and e-marketing, the session will address the impact of social media sites on modern business.
Vaynerchuk, one of the world leading experts in the field of social media, will outline the role played by social networks at a corporate level, especially in the areas of marketing, sales and customer service and other operational areas that, if proactively and positively managed, can improve a company's brand awareness and profitability. He will also highlight how social media can superimpose or complement traditional media channels that companies use to promote their services.
Zain Kuwait is one of the first companies in the Middle East to embrace social media and social networking. It has more than 42,000 subscribers on its Facebook Page and another 14,000 followers on Twitter.
Waleed Al-Khashti, Zain Kuwait's Corporate Communications & Relations Department Manager said the lecture reflects the growing of interest in social networking sites in Kuwait and beyond. "Social Media can make or break a company today, and all corporations need to be well equipped and versed on this current transformation of the world we live in," he said. "We at Zain have taken social media to new levels of dialogue on many levels, as this type of media is dynamic and cannot be matched in terms of the speed and extent of information transmitted."
He also noted: "Zain is keen to constantly keep up with the expectations of its customers," adding, "we must be seen to have the tools that enhance communication with our customers. We are seeking to enhance the principles of transparency and credibility and there is no better way to do this than through the pages of our social networking sites."
Khaled Al-Zanki, founder and CEO of Enterprise Zanki said that, "bringing Vaynerchuk to speak will be a golden opportunity for business leaders in Kuwait to learn more about social networking tools that can ultimately improve their business operations in many facets."
Vaynerchuk lectures branding and social media around the world and runs a family business that over the past five years has seen its value grow from $4 million to $60 million.
